One of our favorite holiday cookie creations are our rainbow cookies! Today we decided for National Cupcake Day to put a new spin on a classic!

Lalaloopsy Birthday Party!

The Lalaloopsy Birthday Party was Great!

A Lalaloopsy Wreath on each door

greeted the guests as they entered the Party!

Pink, Orange and Brown Dot Fabric hung off the ceiling to tie in the room colors and give a tent effect,

we added bright owl prints to add color to the walls.

Sweet Fabric Cupcake Ornaments hung off of the light fixture to give color and add whimsy.

The Lalaloopsy wall was full of Dolls, Candy and Toys.

The children would take home

these fun goodies in their own take-out containers.

The Birthday Cake we created had the Birthday Girl made of fondant holding her Lalaloopsy Doll.

The frosting on the cake was buttercream and then we placed colorful marshmallows around the entire cake.

The children designed and created their own Lalaloopsy Necklaces before going home!

My Portfolio Review (20 years ago)!

Well I was just thinking about 20 years ago when I went for a portfolio review at Pratt and a professor said to me, "You do a little of everything- you draw, you paint, you make mosaics, you do this and that...you need to concentrate on one thing." Here I am 20 years later and nothing has changed. I just cut, sewed and hung fabric and decorated an entire room, created a wreath from scratch and finished it, handmade pompoms, and did I say I cooked dinner and did homework with the kids. Well I have something to say to that professor, whoever he was- I am Nicole, nice to meet you and I do a little of everything, I draw, paint, design, sew, bake, decorate, take pictures, and raise a bunch of crafty kids.  Guess what?  I am so HAPPY that I am CREATIVE! Thank you very much!

 

 

After a long day....SWEET Carnations appeared!

After a long night of homework and cupcake baking, I had some extra batter and decided to try out my new IKEA cupcake pan. After they were all baked and they resembled mushrooms, I had a BRIGHT idea! Why not make them roses. So after the first wilted rose, I decided carnations were the way to go. The cupcake liners matched perfectly with a vase I purchased also at IKEA, so the Cupcake Carnation Centerpiece was born! To show my appreciation and give thanks to my daughter's teacher I presented her with this centerpiece to enjoy on Thanksgiving!
